Tools for Teaching In English
I have found necessary
tools for effective teaching from the Tools for the teaching in English course.
In this course, three sessions were organized in the three weeks’ time frame:
3, 9, 15.10.2013. I found myself the course was very useful and guiding me to
know about frames of English presentation with useful phrases. Even more
participants of the course carried out tasks of 5 minutes of teaching video and
10 minutes online teaching. During the preparation of the teaching tasks, I was
more convinced that I have improved my teaching skills in English. And essay
assignments, including pre-task essay and final essay, were also the learning steps
of polishing critical thinking and reflection skills in English. The best part
of my learning was from by observing this course conducted by the teacher, Juha
Pousi. It was very positive learning experience that online learning could be
done in very organized way with quality of learning experiences.
Teaching video: How to Upload a Video to You Tube?
I have some experiences
in making and editing videos as my hobby. But to make a teaching video was a quite
different experience. I have tested and installed many applications for capturing
and editing the screen shots. Those applications and Windows Movie Maker were
unstable and crashed so many times. It was quite much of time consuming, painful
process to find right applications to make a short video. But when the video
was ready, I was extremely happy. I see the possibilities to generate teaching
videos by myself. For online teaching in SW applications “how to do?” types of
videos might help the student to get familiar with the application
functionalities. So it was very meaningful experiences that I can see the
possibilities on myself as a provider of teaching video materials.
